Lt. Colonel Moves To Delhi HC Against The Ban Of Different Social Media Platforms

The petitioner Lieutenant Colonel submitted that he uses the social media to connect with his family and have never shared any confidential matter to anyone. He have filed the petition against the order of the Director General of Military Intelligence and also submitted that power to modify fundamental rights of members of armed forces rests with the Parliament alone. It was also contended that this policy is violative of Article 14 of the Constitution as there are several members of the civil administration and political class who possess information of much higher level of sensitivity but no restriction on use of social media apply to them.
